A workspace on your machine
Axterm brings local terminals, SSH connections and SFTP file workflows together. You do not need a website account to use the desktop application.
Before you install
Visit the download page for published builds. Check the platform, architecture and verification status, then compare the installer SHA-256 with the published value.
# macOS / Linux: compare this output with the release manifest
shasum -a 256 /path/to/installer
An engineering build does not prove signing, notarization or platform acceptance. No public download is available until it appears in the release list.
Your first connection
Open a local terminal to begin. For a remote host, add the SSH address, port and username. Confirm an unknown host key against a trusted source; treat a changed key as a high-risk event.
Keep passwords in the application-local credential vault. Never paste a password or private key into website support, analytics or public terminal output.
Work deliberately
Use tabs and split panes to organize work. Review AI-generated commands before execution, and confirm important or destructive actions explicitly.
Updates and data
Updates are manual. Read the release notes before installing a new build and keep a recoverable backup of your application data. Existing unpublished prototype data is not automatically upgraded in place.
